Moving Forward in a New Year

Dear friends of Invested Faith,

January has provided an opportunity to look back over 2022 with such deep gratitude. Your support and continued encouragement as Invested Faith grows has been a huge part of those reflections; I thank you.

We began the new year with a running start, adding two part time contractors to the team. With their work we now have help building the foundation of our plan to stay connected with you as the Invested Faith fund grows.

And, with the realization that our Fellows could use support and connection, we now have a colleague helping us build the infrastructure for that support.  You will be hearing more about us later; our job titles are: Vision, Coordination, Generosity, and Connection. January found us spending a few days dreaming about our shared work in 2023. We used a lot of Post-its (see attached picture)!

Personally, the work of Invested Faith and other projects will have me on the road in the year ahead, but most Sundays you will be able to find me in the pulpit at Community Church of Honolulu. You can also check here to see where in the world I will be!

Your prayers, introductions, ideas, financial gifts, guest rooms, and so many other gifts of this past year make up the fuel of what propels me and the Invested Faith team into 2023. We invite you to come along for the ride this year by making sure you share our new “What Is Invested Faith?” video widely (take a look below!), especially with institutions or boards making decisions about future legacy. Follow us on social media and share our posts with your friends. And continue your support in all the many ways you have already so generously offered it.

Happy New Year all, and here’s to a new adventure!

P.S. I’ve finished my interim work in DC. You can read here about what’s next for me as Invested Faith grows!

watch our new video

Listen in as Invested Faith Visionary Pastor Amy Butler talks about the genesis of Invested Faith and explains why this innovative fund offers hope for churches and other declining religious institutions seeking meaningful vehicles for legacy.

If the institution you love is engaging in conversations about creating long-lasting legacy, impactfully directing held assets, or meaningfully continuing mission—even after a traditional institutional expression comes to an end—you need to watch this video.  Please share widely with leaders actively looking for options, answers, and hopeful opportunities during this critical moment of shift in traditional religious institutions.

Produced by our friends at Good Faith Media, this short video will help you get to know our work and our Fellows.

A Better Way Grocers

Albany, Georgia

Tiffany Terrell created the Mobile Grocery Store concept for A Better Way Grocers in 2017 after recognizing the deep need of local residents in surrounding food deserts. The mission of A Better Way Grocers is to drive nutritious food into communities struggling with food access issues across southwest Georgia. Using a retro-fitted school bus as a one-aisle grocery store, Terrell and her team offer reasonably priced, healthy and nutritious food to local communities, along with health education to address chronic food-related illnesses such as diabetes, high blood pressure and high cholesterol.
